Training

Leanne runs the training program at Tomanek Farms, which is open to all breeds and a variety of disciplines. She tailors her program for each individual horse and rider’s needs and experience level. Part of this philosophy is keeping an intimate group of training horses so she can spend quality time with each one.

With a background in healthcare, yoga, and education, Leanne also has an extensive riding history. She started riding when she was 5 years old and got her first horse when she was 11. Since then, she’s been competing internationally with Arabian and Saddlebreds, attending shows around Canada, U.S.A, and South Africa.

Leanne has always been passionate about equitation and started applying for the Saddle Seat World Cup when she was 12 years old.

The World Cup is an international bi-annual competition that rotates between South Africa and the United States. Riders are required to test their skills on a horse supplied by the host nation.

In preparation for these competitions, Leanne had the opportunity to learn from a variety of saddle seat trainers throughout North America.

She competed in 2000, 2004, 2006 and 2008, and was part of the team that brought home a silver medal in 2006. She placed first out of the Canadian riders and fourth overall.
