Joe Tomanek

Owner

For Mr. Joe, family and horses have always gone hand in hand. He was first associated with the equine world when his daughters started taking lessons 35 years ago. Now, he watches his grandchildren as they ride, only this time his role is much larger than just that of a spectator. With the establishment of Tomanek Farms 3 years ago, Mr. Joe has enjoyed refurbishing the property and building a family business that welcomes anyone who’s ever admired horses. His construction background has been complimentary to the enormous back and brain power that has gone into creating Tomanek Farms. He’s enjoyed every step of the way, and loves the challenges that are inherent to owning a farm.

Leanne Tomanek

Trainer

A deep respect for the horse has evolved over Leanne’s 30 plus years of experience, and she now applies this to her training program at Tomanek Farms. She’s eager to work with all horses, regardless of breed. But, she specializes in Arabians and Saddlebreds, which is a passion innate from her rich history in Saddleseat riding. She was first introduced to horses when she started taking lessons as a 5-year-old kid. Since then, she’s owned, showed and bred a large count of Arabian and Half Arabian horses.

Erika Metro

Instructor

Erika is the farm’s handy (wo)man. She can weld a metal fence, fix a water leak and then turn around and teach a riding lesson. Erika started riding when she was 8 years old. She, too, has been an Arabian lover and has owned and showed them throughout her life, competing at Regional and National levels. When she was 13, she started leading lesson programs and barn summer camps. And, after spending some time working with children in a high school, Erika decided to merge her skills as a teacher with her love of horses. She runs the lesson program at Tomanek Farms and enjoys working with anyone who has a curiosity in horses, especially kids.
